The task is to design a rural minimum house prototype built of concrete to be produced in a mass production fashion. Being Cemex a transnational company the prototype should have global application possibilities. The house is formed by a concrete hardware structure and components that act as software adaptations to the programmatic needs, local climate conditions and local culture. Being a rural house, the use of exterior space becomes fundamental in its daily use. In this sense, the proposed portico, bench and sink extend the activity to the outside. The design allows for diverse connection possibilities with two or three houses to produce size variability. Also, the extensive openings amplify its possible use range, an invaluable advantage in the rural condition.
