An impressive landscape, a steeply sloping terrain, and a client passionate about outdoor activities are the main factors informing the project’s design decisions. To preserve the user’s gravitational tension of being on the mountainside and spatially connect them to their surroundings, the proposal combines three simple yet bold gestures: the house is embedded into the terrain, the roof follows the same slope as the land, and the view opens along the entire perimeter of the floor plan.
The entry sequence, which begins through a tunnel and then turns to reveal the main door opening onto the expansive landscape, serves as an introduction to a subtle yet intentional relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
