Given the project’s location at the periphery of the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila where the availability of public space is very limited, the brief included a program of leisure activities and sport courts. The budget allocated for the construction was uncertain during the design phase and consequently it was difficult to close the scope of the project.
As a response to this situation, the proposal is articulated as a combination of immediate and gradually implemented programs. The sport courts are set to be built at the beginning of the process due to their higher construction cost and bigger risk of not getting into completion. The gradually implemented programs are those which can be built as budget is available, so they are proposed as independent circles of variable size that contain activities like rain gardens, amphitheater, playground, barbecue areas and vegetation that contributes to create microclimates.
