Casa Villaseñor

Monterrey, Mexico

2012

The central idea of the project begins from the intention of the client to have a house with a direct relationship to green space. Following that request, the proposal enhances the presence of the garden by alternating the blocking and opening of the view from the interior to the exterior. The scheme achieves spatial continuity by the absence of interior walls on the ground floor which in turn allows for greater flexibility and spatial efficiency.

The distribution of the program in relation to the large sliding doors and outdoor activities will make it possible to use the space continuously and integrated between the interior and the exterior.

Structurally, the scheme acts as a house of cards in which the load-bearing walls on the ground floor correspond to openings on the upper floor, alternating solids and voids in elevation and in section.
